Select Seconds Consignment Contract

Consignment may be accepted anytime during normal business hours. No appointment necessary. Shut-offs are to be expected occasionally to allow our employees time to get caught up on processing after an overwhelming amount of consignments have been received. Please call ahead to avoid delay and confirm next open date.

We accept clothing purchased new within the last two years, freshly laundered, gently worn with no holes, stains, missing buttons, excessive wear, odor from smoke, cedar, moth balls, etc. All items must be thoroughly inspected by our personnel. Please allow time for this when bringing consignment. You are welcome to shop in our store or simply stand at the counter with us while your items are being processed; however, we do not allow merchandise to be dropped off without going through the selection process. Unselected items will be returned to you at this time or donated by request.

Any items taken and then determined to be unsuitable for sale, whether on the day of intake or at any time during consignment, will be donated immediately and not held for pickup.

Please be aware that we are extremely selective and will only accept current styles in excellent condition! There is no limit on the amount, bring as much as you like, but please carefully inspect every article before bringing. If more than 50% of your items are rejected for consignment, we may want to cancel future consignment transactions.

***You may choose one of the following methods for bringing clothing items:

1.  Pressed and on hangers, ready for processing.

2.  Pressed and folded neatly in plastic storage containers with lids,

    labeled with your name.

3.  Wrinkled, or “AS IS” (pressing required) on hangers or neatly

    folded in a zipper storage bag or other closed container.

*Note: a 50 cent per item charge will be deducted from your account for items steamed/ironed by our personnel.

Merchandise is priced according to style, condition, brand, and by popularity or customer demand. The consignor receives 50% of the final selling price. Clothing generally remains at regular price for 45 days. It will then be marked down as deemed necessary.

Select Seconds Consignment Shop reserves the right to: Put items on sale, Refuse any item for consignment, determine the value of an item to be consigned, or donate an item at any time.

Reasonable care will be given to protect each item, but we will not be responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or damaged.

Up to 3 names may be added to a consignor’s account by request. This request may not be done over the phone. Full access to the account is given to these individuals. Consignors are responsible for making appropriate changes to facilitate current file information.

A consignment number will be assigned during the first visit. All items will be tagged using a computer program allowing our consignors to be informed of the status of their account: Dates- date items were consigned, processed and sold. Amount- numbers of items consigned. Prices- amount items were priced and sold for.  Item description- type, brand, color, and size of each item. Current Status- of each item sold, available, returned, donated) Item summary- number of items sold, number of items still available. Print-out of account activity available on request.

PAYOUTS may be collected anytime during business hours. Consignors are to check accounts in person. Checks will not be mailed. A valid driver’s license or ID must be presented every time a payout is received.

We strive to provide a clean, well organized store with quality clothing at low, affordable prices. We try to please both the consignor as well as the customer with our prices. If you would feel more comfortable pricing your own items, you are welcome to send a list with the desired prices.
